The heart of New York City Church is to reflect and live out our core values in every day life. The intension is to ensure that these ideals are at the very heart and foundation of who we are and what we believe as a church. These principles are used as a blue print or standard to live by; not only for enriching our own lives, but for the purpose of letting others know about the life changing message of Christ and the Biblical foundation of Christianity.

The Bible is the inspired written Word of God We value the Bible as God’s word written by human hands under the supernatural guidance of the Holy Spirit. We believe the Bible is the supreme source of truth and used as the standard of faith. The Bible is used as a compass, to teach and guide us a source of strength, revelation, and truth. It’s the foundation by which we live by. 1 Peter 1:21, Hebrews 4:12, and 2 Timothy 3:16
The Holy Spirit We value the Holy Spirit; His purpose for today is to make men aware of their need for Christ. The Holy Spirit is the empowerment for living a victorious fruitful life, and we believe that the baptism of the Holy Spirit is an experience subsequent to salvation and evidenced in many different ways. 1 Corinthians 2:13-14; 12:14, and Acts 2:1-4
The presence of God We value, respect, and hold highly the undefiled presence of God. It’s our whole purpose, and our goal to seek daily. There is nothing more intimate or moving than being in the presence of God, when in His presence it’s the only thing that matters and all your cares and concerns just melt away. Our goal is to live in His presence and to help others to know and experience this as well. Ex 33:14, Deut 12:7, Ps 89:15
The importance of gathering together on Sunday We value the local church and the commitment to the corporate gathering every Sunday. The purpose is to come together to fulfill the purposes of God as a local church family. This is a Biblical pattern and model that is designed for the local church to extend the Kingdom of God here on earth, thus building community of believers with relationships that build the family of God. 1Peter2: 5, 9, Matt 16:16-19; 18:15-20, Eph 5:24-32
The power of prayer and intercession We value prayer and intercession as foundational stones, or keys that unlock the blessings and purposes of God. It’s through prayer that we see the promises of God come to pass, and it’s the critical ingredient that helps us reach our potential in Christ. God’s desire is to bless us, and the Bible clearly states, ‘that you have not, because you ask not.” Through prayer and intercession, we can touch heaven and see the will of God fulfilled here on earth. Pro 5:8, Matt 21:13, Acts 6:4, Phil 4:6, and Eph 6:18 Jam 5:16
The passion of whole hearted worship We value the importance whole hearted worship not only on an individual level, but corporately as well. We understand that God looks at the heart and the desire to be in community with Him, and when there is unity in worship, we receive a commanded blessing. 2 Chron 5:13-14, Ps 134:2, Ps 33:1-3, Ps 100:4
The importance of giving We value the importance of giving and receiving, not only with in finance, but as stewards of the gifts and talents God has given us. As we give our time, energy, and resources, the law of sowing and reaping comes into play, as favor and blessing are released onto your life. Luke 6:38; 16:10, 2 Cor 8:7 Duet 8:18; 28:12-132, 2 Cor 9:6-11
The importance of family We value the family as the very heart of God; it’s the Biblical model for the foundation of the church and for singles to build upon. We believe in the restoration of broken lives and are committed to help each other maintain strong, healthy, and functional families. Gen 2:18; 24:25 Eph 5:25-30, 1 Pet 3:7
The heart of a servant We value the heart of serving. The key to a productive Christian life is to understand the principle and heart of serving and sacrifice. Christ was the ultimate servant leader, and in His time on earth, came to serve, not be served. As we put others needs before our own and serve others with all of our heart, our needs become fulfilled. Eph 6:7, Col 3:23-24, Matt 20:26-28; 25:21
The heart and spirit of community We value community and connecting with those around us. Being committed to one another in strong healthy relationships is a vital key to our spiritual growth and emotional stability. Knowing you can rely on others brings a sense of confidence in yourself and an appreciation for those around you. Acts 2:42, John 13:34, Eph 4:16
The individual as a special gift designed by God We value each person as a unique and special gift designed just as God intended them to be. Every person was created with their own gift mix and our desire is to see people find and understand who they are in God, and use their giftings to fulfill the call of God on their lives. Jer 1:5, Rom 8:28-30, 1 Pet 2:9, Ps 139:13
The gift of salvation and the calling of God on our lives We value the gift of salvation as a foundation in our Christian lives, and this free gift is for every person. The Bible mentions ‘The Great Commission,’ a message about going into the world and preaching the Gospel and this is the very heart of New York City Church. Without Christ, we are eternally lost and we believe in reaching people with this life changing and transforming message. Our intention is to see people added to the church daily as we touch the city and culture around us with the love of Christ. Eph 2:8-9, Heb 9:12 & 22, & Rom 5:11
